Easy Rider Tour- Dalat, Vietnam

We took a Easy Rider motorcycle tour around Dalat and saw great views of the countryside, as well as, a coffee plantation, a temple, a waterfall, a silk factory, a mushroom farm, and how to make rice wine. It was an eventful day to say the least.

Buddhas of Dalat, Vietnam

Here are various Buddha Statues all at one temple in Dalat, Vietnam. Anyone who has travelled in SE Asia knows that these are few in comparison to some temples that have seemingly endless statues.

Long Son Pagoda, Nha Trang, Vietnam

Here is a famous temple in the coastal town of Nha Trang. It had a large reclining Buddha Statue and a Buddha sitting atop a lotus flower. It also had a wonderful view overlooking the town.

Hoi An, Vietnam

The first beach of our trip and we were certainly impressed- not only with the scenery but the luxury of being able to wear shorts.

Halong Bay, Vietnam

This is the famous Halong Bay in Vietnam. We only later found out that the sun rarely shines there. But it was still a beautiful place to visit. And we also went into a cave there. Here are some pics.

More videos of Sapa

Ha- The Hmong girl of Lao Chai village

Meet Ha. She is one of the Hmong villagers that took us to her village-Lao Chai- and showed us great hospitality in the middle of the mountains. She told us how the Vietnamese suppress the Hmong and exploit them, which reminded me of the native Americans. They are pushed into "reservations" and there land is taken routinely. Still this young girl was very sharp and mature for her young age. We ate a meal with her family and there a picture of the view from her front yard.

Sapa, Vietnam

After one hell of a bus ride, we arrived in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Sapa is a small town located in northern Vietnam and is surrounded by rice terraces on every hill. This town had character just like the many Hmong people who live in the surrounding villages. The children from these villages spoke great English and were some of the smoothest salespeople I've met. They were just sweet people and fun to have around even if they were hawking beaded bracelets and hemp handbags on every corner. Amazing place- one of the most memorable in the world.

The Temple of Literature- Hanoi, Vietnam

Here are some pics of the Temple of Literature- the first school of Vietnam. There was a beautiful Vietnamese singer making a music video there.

From Hong Kong to Hanoi, Vietnam

We left the amazing city of HK and went on to the bustling streets of Hanoi, Vietnam. This is a picture of the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, a lady at a temple, a man smoking tobacco out of a bamboo bong, and many motorbikes at an intersection.

Hong Kong Light Show

Clearly the highlight of Hong Kong is the amazing light show that occurs nightly around 8pm and last for about 15 minutes. Absolutely stunning--

Hong Kong Streets

The streets of Hong Kong are nothing but skyscrapers reaching into the sky with markets at eye level. Lots of shark fin for sale.
